We are now the proud owners of a Carestream 9600 CBCT which enables us to diagnose complex root canal morphology, bone adequacy for implants, and many other things.
The first diagnosis was actually made on me, as the technician needed a subject to make an exposure. I volunteered and immediately found I had completely asymptomatic internal resorption on a canine. I had this treated successfully by an endodontist friend of mine and am now fine. However, if I hadn’t had this CBCT my tooth would have been lost. The resorption had just perforated the root, but one or two more months it would have been really bad.
This new technology can save your teeth, even from asymptomatic problems. We are thrilled with this new addition to our practice and the benefits it will bring to our patients.
